What personal information this website may collect
This is a brochure website. It does not create customer accounts, take online payments, or run a booking system, and it does not store information you type into the contact form on this website. The only personal information involved is what you choose to give us when getting in touch:
- Your name, phone number and general location (town or postcode), which service you are interested in, and a description of the work — typed into the contact form.
- Any messages you send us directly by WhatsApp, phone, email or social media.
How the contact form works
The form on this website does not send us your details directly and does not save them to a database. When you press "Send via WhatsApp", the details you have typed are opened as a pre-filled message in WhatsApp on your device. Nothing leaves your device unless you then choose to send that message in WhatsApp.
If you send it, the message is delivered to our business WhatsApp account. From that point it is handled by WhatsApp (operated by Meta) under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy, and we receive and keep it as part of your enquiry.
How and why we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and answer questions about our services.
- To provide free, no-obligation quotations and arrange site visits.
- To plan and carry out building work you ask us to do.
- To keep a record of our communications with you.
We rely on our legitimate interests in running our business and responding to customer enquiries as the lawful basis for this use. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not send you newsletters, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who your information may be shared with
- WhatsApp / Meta — delivers messages you send us via WhatsApp, under their own privacy policy. Your phone number and message are visible to Meta as WhatsApp's provider.
- Our website platform provider (Base44 / Wix) — hosts this website and its images. It processes technical data (such as your IP address and device request details) to serve the site, under its own privacy terms.
- Google Fonts — the website loads its typefaces (Montserrat) from Google's servers, which means your IP address and browser request details are visible to Google.
- We may share details with tradespeople or suppliers working on your project, but only where that is needed to carry out work you have asked for.
International transfers
Because WhatsApp (Meta) and Google Fonts operate from the United States, information described above may be transferred and processed outside the UK. These providers apply safeguards (such as UK adequacy mechanisms or equivalent contractual protections) for such transfers. This website itself does not send your form details anywhere — the transfer to WhatsApp only happens if you press send in WhatsApp yourself.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as we need it to handle your enquiry and any resulting work. If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete the messages when the conversation is finished and no longer needed. If it does lead to work, we keep the relevant correspondence for the records we need for that project, then delete it when it is no longer required.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking technologies. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep information safe — for example, access to our business WhatsApp, email and phone accounts is limited to the people in our business who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data protection rights
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you (access).
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong (rectification).
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need (erasure).
- Ask us to limit how we use it, or object to our use of it (restriction and objection).
- Receive it in a portable format (portability, where applicable).
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this policy. You can also delete a WhatsApp conversation directly in WhatsApp at any time.
Complaining to the ICO
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator:
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Telephone: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time (for example, if we add a feature to the website). The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
